Cabbage "Centurion", or "CENTURION", refers to mid-late hybrid forms from the originator Clause and is included in the State Register of the Russian Federation for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The hybrid form was developed by French breeders.

Grade description

Hybrid cabbage "Centurion" belongs to the category of varieties that are popular and in demand by gardeners, which are successfully cultivated in household plots and garden plots. The variety description characterizes this medium late cabbage as a plant with a raised rosette of leaves.

The sheets themselves have a relatively average size and a bluish-green color. The leaves have a medium intensity waxy coating, blistering, with a slight waviness along the edge. Heads of cabbage are rounded, covered, a yellowish tint is observed in the section. The outer and inner pokers are quite short. The average mass of head of cabbage at the stage of technical maturity can vary from 1.7 to 2.5 kg. Density indicators are 4.3 points. Taste is high.

Average commodity yields can be 445-615 kg / ha, which is about 35-135 kg / ha higher than the standard yields of such popular and widespread cabbage varieties as Kryumon-F1 and Amtrak-F1. The maximum yield during cultivation of cabbage of the hybrid form "Centurion" in the Krasnodar Territory can reach 650-655 kg / ha.

Dates and features of landing

The period from seedlings to the technical maturity of the heads of cabbage, depending on the soil-climatic and weather conditions in the cultivation region, can be from 130 to 150 days. It is recommended to sow seeds in March, following the following rules:

  • sowing is done in moist soil;
  • the standard sowing pattern is 50-60x40 cm. When growing in open ground, you need to adhere to the sowing depth at the level of 1.5-2 cm;
  • The best predecessors for such a vegetable crop in a personal or garden plot are legumes and crops, as well as cucumbers, onions and root crops.

Subject to the rules of planting, the standard yield of marketable vegetable products will be at least 88%.

Disease prevention

At the sites of planting and sowing of white cabbage, more than fifty species of harmful insects are detected, as well as a significant number of diseases. The most common diseases of white cabbage are represented by keel, fusarium, vascular, mucous and pinpoint bacterioses, a black leg, peronosporiosis, or downy mildew, gray mold and pinpoint necrosis.

Cabbage "Centurion" is quite resistant to Fusarium infection, however, it needs preventive and protective measures against other diseases and insect pests. You can reduce the risk of keel damage by replacing organic fertilizer in the form of manure with mineral fertilizers.

It is important to follow proper agricultural practices in areas reserved for cabbage cultivation, including steaming and pickling seed and soil for planting with fungicides, as well as combating waterlogging and thickened plantings.

This hybrid form is characterized by high uniformity, suitability for long-term storage, optimal head sizes and very high yields, which on average reach 90-110 t / ha.
